Escalating protests over the death of BDS student Nithin Raj at Kannur Dental College in Anjarakandy, the Nithin Raj Action Council has called for a Statewide hartal on April 28, alleging serious lapses in police investigation and seeking a probe under High Court supervision.

The action council, formed by 52 Dalit organisations along with like-minded political groups, announced the agitation at a press conference, accusing the police of serious lapses and lack of progress in the case. It demanded immediate intervention to ensure a fair and impartial investigation.
