Recalling the efforts in bringing Oxygen from Odisha to Madurai by trains and trucks, DMK’s central constituency candidate and Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan said that it had helped save hundreds of patients suffering from COVID-19 admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital and at other major hospitals in southern districts. Speaking at an election rally in Madurai central constituency on Monday, he said that when the Union government imposed certain restrictions in moving Oxygen after the second wave of the pandemic, he and his cabinet colleague P. Moorthy jointly examined the modalities swiftly and brought Oxygen from Odisha. “This saved numerous lives, who required Oxygen badly in the government hospitals….,” he said.
