Sukumar is handing over braille vote slip to a visually challenged voter. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT While the electorate will be allowed to cast their votes on ‘first come first served’ basis on Thursday, the pregnant women, nursing mothers, physically challenged and the senior citizens will be given priority, District Collector and District Election Officer R. Sukumar has said. Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Dr. Sukumar said the election model code of conduct was clamped following the formal notification on March 15. A total of 12,65,302 voters including 6,16,911 men, 6,48,245 women and 146 other voters would cast their votes in 1,678 booths to be manned by 8,343 personnel. Moreover, 358 micro observers would also be deployed.
