Dinesh Basava Jayanthi, the birth anniversary of the social reformer of the 12th century, was celebrated on Monday, recalling his message of equality and upliftment of the downtrodden sections of society. In a programme organised by the Hassan district administration in Hassan, Member of Parliament Shreyas M. Patel said that the best way to pay tribute to Basavanna would be to adopt his principles and teachings in life. He fought for equality and motivated many people to join the path of change in his lifetime, he said.
