Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan on April 20, 2026, (Monday) accused both the DMK and the AIADMK of being “united in corruption despite separate alliances”, and asserted that the TVK had the strength to defeat them.

Addressing a campaign meeting here in support of party candidate M. Vijay Balaji in the Erode (East) Assembly constituency, he also criticised the BJP, alleging that it was indirectly supporting the DMK, and questioned its role in the AIADMK alliance, particularly with regard to the interests of minorities. He said TVK leader Vijay had categorically ruled out any alliance with the BJP.
