In a step towards strengthening mental healthcare for vulnerable and homeless persons, a 30-bed Emergency Care and Recovery Centre (ECRC) was inaugurated at K.R. Hospital in Mysuru under the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP).

Social Welfare and district in-charge Minister H.C. Mahadevappa launched the facility, which aims to provide treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term support for destitute persons suffering from mental illness. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Aladamara Foundation following an agreement signed earlier this year.
