Two Kendriya Vidyalayas were inaugurated at Chittoor and Kuppam mandals in Chittoor district on Monday (April 20, 2026), marking a significant move to broaden students’ access to quality education in the region. The schools are currently operating out of temporary premises, with essential infrastructure in place. District Collector Sumit Kumar, who inaugurated the new campus in Chittoor, said that each school will offer 320 seats. He said the admissions are progressing briskly with nearly 70% already filled and noted that all basic facilities have been arranged and full-fledged classes are expected to begin within a week.
