Selvaperunthagai on Monday (April 20, 2026) alleged that “Hindi-speaking Income Tax” officials “unlawfully confined” him within the Sriperumbudur Assembly constituency on a day when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was arriving in Tamil Nadu to campaign for elections. I-T officials reportedly conducted searches at the residence of Mr. Selvaperunthagai on Monday.
