The Puttur Town Police have registered a case against the management committee of the Puttur Mahalingeshwara Temple, after seven persons were injured from sparks that came out during a firework display held during the temple’s annual fair on Friday, April 17, at midnight. According to the complaint, Sumant Shetty, 20, an engineering student hailing from Kundapur, attended the annual festival rituals along with his friends. He and his friends stood about 150 metres away from the place where the crackers were stored and were watching the firework display.
