MLC Thippannappa Kamaknoor addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi on Saturday. | Photo Credit: ARUN KULKARNI Urging for a more inclusive celebration of Basava Jayanti, MLC Thippannappa Kamaknoor, who is also president of Kayaka Samajada Sharanara Okkuta, has appealed to the Basava Jayanti Utsav Samiti in Kalaburagi to broaden its representation by including leaders from diverse communities reflecting the inclusive philosophy of 12th century social reformer Basaveshwara. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Kamaknoor said that the spirit of Basava Jayanti should transcend community boundaries and not remain confined to the Lingayat community alone.
