ASHOK Branded an outsider by the ruling DMK, Kollywood actor-cum-director, Sundar. C, has created quite a storm in Madurai with his sharp questioning on lack of basic amenities around the world famous Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple. In a quick interaction with The Hindu, the Puthiya Neethi Katchi (New Justice Party) candidate, who is fighting on AIADMK’s Two Leaves symbol, shares his political viewpoints. Mr. Sundar says an incident of a “missing” mountain due to rampant quarrying sowed the seeds in him to get into active politics. He recalled that a beautiful mountain in a picturesque spot, where he had been shooting for a film in one of the southern districts, went missing within few months.
