Fake IAS case: District surgeon of Chikkamagaluru relieved; DC seeks report from medical college dean

Following allegations of joining hands with the fake IAS officer and facing charges of cheating, District Surgeon of Chikkamagaluru H.B. Chandrashekhar has been relieved from the post. Dr Chandrashekhar Salimath, who was District Surgeon-2, took over the charge on Saturday.

Dr. M.R. Harish, Dean of Director of Chikkamagaluru Institute of Medical Sciences in Chikkamagaluru, on Sunday, told The Hindu that following the recent reports in the media on the fake IAS officer cheating the medical shop owner in the city, the district surgeon had been replaced. Besides that, there were complaints that he failed to maintain cleanliness in the hospital. Chikkamagaluru MLA H.D. Thammaiah had suggested the replacement for failing to maintain cleanliness in the hospital,” said Dr. Harish.
