The truce ushered in by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to tamp down “fractious discussions” about the prospective Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader and possible Chief Minister candidate if the United Democratic Front (UDF) triumphs in the Assembly elections appeared to be holding tenuously in the party in Kerala, for now. The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) leadership has, in the past week, attempted, on and off, and with mixed results, to rein in the rank and file from juggling the names of Congress’s Chief Minister probables on social media and declaring their individual choices for the top post, while playing up factional loyalties.
