BigBasket warehouse in Hyderabad’s Kompally flagged for licence violation, food safety lapses

Pigeon droppings and cobwebs were found in the storage areas of a BigBasket warehouse operated by Supermarket Grocery Stores Supplies Pvt. Ltd. in Kompally here, alongside licence violations and unhygienic transport operations, during an inspection by the flying squad of Telangana Food Safety Department on Saturday.

“The facility was operating 22 transport vehicles even though its licence does not include transport under its kind of business. Several of these vehicles were found to be rusty and unhygienic, in violation of Schedule four norms governing food transport,” the department said.
