Members affiliated to the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation on Friday held a demonstration near Kamaraj Statue to condemn the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife by US forces. The members raised slogans against US imperialism and sought the release of the captured president and his wife. The protesters criticised the US administration for attacking Venezuela with an eye on plundering the oil reserves of that country. CPI(M) secretary S. Ramachandran, veteran Communist leader T. Murugan and former legislator and CPI leader Nara Kalainathan were among those who participated in the protest.
