The legislation that will be brought in to implement the menstrual leave policy in Karnataka, following the recent High Court order, will include penal provisions to check violations by employers, providing teeth to the legislation.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil said the government will enact a comprehensive legislation on the matter soon and this law will include penal provisions to ensure it is implemented uniformly across all sectors.
