Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath on Friday sought the Congress to come out with a White Paper on the grants released to Mangaluru city and projects realised in the city since the grand old party came to power in the State in 2023.

Addressing presspersons, the MLA said that the Congress MLC Ivan D’Souza went on record on Thursday that foundation stones for 25 projects worth ₹165 crore sanctioned under Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana (MGNVY) 2.0 will be laid in the city on Saturday, April 18. But the same grant is nothing but old wine in a new bottle as ‘Mahatma Gandhi City Development Programme’ was declared by the then Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy in the Budget of 2019-20. The city corporations of Mangaluru, Belagavi, Ballari, Tumakuru, Shivamogga, Davanagere and Vijayapura were announced with a grant of ₹125 crore each under the scheme, he said.
