The Telangana High Court on Thursday (January 8, 2026) directed the Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail Limited (HAMRL) and the Act Public Welfare Foundation (which filed a PIL petition alleging adverse impact on heritage structures due to violations in construction of Metro Phase-II), to make a powerpoint presentation on the matter on February 4.

A bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin, hearing a PIL plea and a writ petition over the Metro Phase-II construction, said that a ‘visual presentation depicting the proposed Metro alignment could be demonstrated by HAMRL at 2.15 p.m. on February 4’. This would help the court understand the latest works being carried out and the work completed so far, the bench said.

The bench directed both the HAMRL and the PIL petitioner to come up with PPT on the impact of construction works on heritage buildings along the Metro Phase-II route and co-ordinate with the Registrar (Information Technology) of the High Court to make the presentations.
