Jus Reign on ‘Late Bloomer’: ‘There’s beauty in hesitation and doubt’

The Canadian dramedy Late Bloomer is a gentle song about marching to one’s beat. Jasmeet Raina, who has written and acted in the series, took a break from his popular YouTube persona, Jus Reign, to create the show. “I wanted to take some time to re-navigate and figure out which way I was heading,” Jasmeet says over a video call from Toronto.

Wanting to go beyond the label of an online creator, Jasmeet says he wished to try his hand at storytelling that was slightly more challenging. “Taking a step back from something as demanding as the internet allowed me the space to write something that felt bigger.”
