The Forest Department in Hasanur Division of the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) has intensified a comprehensive special awareness drive across all villages, focusing on increasing voter participation and strengthening preparedness to mitigate human–wildlife conflict.

Yogesh Kumar Garg, Deputy Director of STR and District Forest Officer, Hasanur Division, said all Forest Range Officers (FROs) and frontline staff are actively involved in the initiative, which combines civic responsibility with community safety. As part of the campaign, field teams are conducting door-to-door outreach, organising village-level meetings, and holding focus group discussions to sensitise residents to the importance of exercising their franchise in the forthcoming elections.
