The forest department has deployed 10 camera traps around the area in Anumapuram in The Nilgiris forest division where a woman was killed by a carnivore recently.

The victim, R. Parvathi (56), a daily wage worker, had ventured out of her home after dusk on April 11, 2026 and is believed to have been killed by a carnivore, most likely a tiger, though the forest department is still in the process of verifying the species of animal behind the attack.
