Tension prevailed at Anjarakandy here after a protest march by the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) seeking a comprehensive probe into the death of first-year BDS student Nithin Raj at the Kannur Dental College turned violent, leading to the arrest of several leaders. The march, organised by the MSF Kannur district committee, demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, justice for the bereaved family and strict punishment for those found responsible. The protesters, who began their march from the medical college bus stop, were stopped by the police at the college gate.
