Parameshwara said that the investigation into the Hubballi woman disrobing incident will be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after taking approval from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. A video showing a woman, said to be a BJP worker, allegedly being disrobed went viral on social media. The incident triggered widespread outrage as police faced the allegation of disrobing the woman. Speaking to mediapersons at his home office, Dr. Parameshwara said the CID would investigate the truth behind the incident and submit a report to the government of Karnataka. The government would take a decision after determining who was at fault and whose negligence led to the incident, he said. He reiterated that the police did not allow the woman to be disrobed, and that they took immediate action. “I have already told you that the police did not strip her, and she did it herself. However, a detailed investigation is required to clearly ascertain the facts,” he added.
