Ajith Pillai, chief cardiologist at Kauvery, said many patients arrived in critical condition due to an acute trigger such as a massive heart attack or long-standing heart disease that had gone undetected. In such situations, the team would be able to initiate treatment quickly. He added that their team-based approach was similar to models in leading cardiac hospitals in the U.S. and Europe. Aravindan Selvaraj, executive director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said the adoption of CHIP reflected the hospital’s commitment to bringing global standards of cardiac care closer to patients.
