Telangana is poised for a major political reshaping with the upcoming delimitation exercise, which is expected to add nearly 60 new Assembly constituencies, raising the total from 119 to 179. The expansion, coupled with the Constitution (131st) Amendment Bill and Delimitation Bills, will also pave the way for implementing 33 per cent reservation for women in legislatures, with as many as 60 seats likely to be reserved for women alone.
