Siruthuli, an NGO pursuing rejuvenation of water-bodies in Coimbatore, said it was working to revive the Noyyal river, terming it the lifeline of the Kongu region. As part of the efforts, NGO organised a ‘Noyyal River Walk’, a community engagement initiative aimed at spreading awareness on the urgent need to protect and restore the river basin. The walk covered the stretch from Perur Padithurai to Kurichi Anicut. Representatives from the Water Resources Department, CODISSIA, Chamber of Commerce, SIEMMA, Young Indians, farmer associations and members from the public participated, said managing trustee of Siruthuli Vanitha Mohan at a recent event here.
