Samsung showcases its first-ever trifold smartphone in India

Samsung on Thursday (January 8, 2026) showcased its first-ever trifolfing smartphone, the Samsung Z TriFold, to the media. The South Korean electronics brand had launched it last year in select markets and selling there.

Samsung Z TriFold shines with a 10-inch 2x AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits peak brightness, while the cover remains a 6.5 inch LTPO AMOLED with similar refresh rate but 2,600 nits peak brightness. The inward-folding phone carries a weight of 309 grams.

Surprisingly, Samsung has packed a 45W charger inside the box of TriFold which holds a 5,600 mAh battery, divided across the three panels.

The Z TriFold runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The trifold sports a 200 MP main camera along with a 12 MP uktrawide lens and a 10 MP telephoto sensor. The cover and the main display have a 10 MP each selfie camera.

With the Z TriFold, Samsung aims to test the water in India with different use cases and feedback. It will be analysing the market as well, if at all it is ready to accept a triple folding phone.

Perhaps, Samsung has decided to not launch the Z TriFold in India as of now. As for as pricing is concerned, Samsung sells the Z TriFold at AED 11,999 in UAE, which is around ₹2,93,629.
