BJP MLA from Malviya Nagar Satish Upadhyay on Friday (January 9, 2026) raised the issue of contaminated drinking water in various parts of his Assembly constituency in South Delhi. The issue was raised by him in the Delhi Assembly House on Friday.

The BJP MLA said Begumpur, Khidki Village, Arjun Nagar, and Hauz Rani in South Delhi are facing problems of contaminated drinking water, and said the issue started during the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, but it is not yet fixed.

Mr. Upadhyay also urged Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh to direct officials to fix the problem. The BJP has been in power for the last 10 months in Delhi.

Earlier this month, more than 10 people died after consuming contaminated water in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area, leaving many more people admitted to hospitals.
