State Bank of India (SBI) Chairperson Challa Sreenivasulu Setty inaugurated the bank’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru on January 7. On the same occasion, 11 new SBI branches were inaugurated in the presence of Joohi Smita Sinha, Chief General Manager, Bengaluru circle, and other General Managers of SBI.

This Global Capability Centre marks a first-of-its-kind initiative by any Indian bank, underscoring SBI’s commitment to supporting the rapidly growing GCC ecosystem in India. In addition, SBI has established a dedicated relationship management team in Bengaluru to cater exclusively to the banking and financial needs of GCCs.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, State Bank of India announced contributions towards community development and social welfare, including the upgradation of 35 government primary schools across Karnataka, provision of ENT diagnostic and therapeutic equipment to the ENT wing of Bagchi–Parthasarathy Hospital, IISc Medical School, a 50,000-tree plantation drive at Tumkur University campus, and donation of an e-ambulance to the Madras Engineer Group (MEG) & Centre, Bengaluru, an engineering regiment of the Indian Army.
