Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar arrived in Coimbatore on Tuesday night to campaign for candidates of the Congress–DMK alliance in the run-up to the Assembly election. Addressing reporters at the airport, he said the alliance remained united, with 20 parties working together. He said the government led by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin had carried out several initiatives over the past five years, and that leaders from the alliance had come to Tamil Nadu to support its candidates.
