Shivakumar, MLC, has sought sub-quotas for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes women in the Women’s Reservation Bill, also known as ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’. Speaking at the 135th Ambedkar Jayanti, organised by the Mysuru district administration and federation of organisations associated with Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram, at Kalamandira in the city on Tuesday (April 14), Mr. Shivakumar said the move by the Union government to extend reservation to women in Parliament and State Assemblies is welcome.
