Authorities at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, announced that a male Asiatic lion named Leo, aged seven years, brought under an animal exchange programme from Assam and kept under quarantine period, died on Tuesday. “The animal was diagnosed positive for two major haemoprotozoan diseases namely Trypanosomiasis and Ehrlichiosis on March 19 during the quarantine period which subsequently led to multiple organ failure and death,” curator of IGZP G.
