Most parts of the district are reeling under an intense heat wave, with temperatures already touching 40 degrees Celsius and humidity levels rising steadily, making daily life increasingly difficult. The scorching conditions are affecting people from all walks of life, including traders and political campaigners, who are struggling to continue their activities under the relentless sun. With just a week left for campaigning to end ahead of the April 23 Assembly election, political parties are also finding it difficult to extend their campaign hours to reach the remaining voters, as the intense heat restricts outdoor activities during the day.
