With the Catholic Church finally issuing a sharp rebuke against attempts by two prominent Christian leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), P.C. George and his son Shone George, to cast aspersions on it, the party has now been pushed into damage-control mode. While the Kanjirappally diocese continues to maintain silence over the scathing remarks made by Mr. George against its bishop and by Mr. Shone George against Deepika, the official newspaper of the Church, Pala Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt has come out strongly, warning that a tone of intimidation would not be tolerated.
