Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on Monday (April 13, 2026) directed officials concerned to ensure senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs) have easy access to reserved seats in all buses. The decision comes in the wake of rising complaints against unavailability of seats for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. In a press note issued on Monday, the APSRTC said issues such as improper identification of reserved seats and ineligible passengers occupying it, have come to its notice. Instances of staff negligence in ensuring availability of reserved seats and failure to extend due respect and assistance to senior citizens and PwDs have also come to its notice, the APSRTC said in the release.
