Home Minister V. Anitha on Wednesday reviewed arrangements for the annual Chandanotsavam at the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple at Simhachalam that will commence on April 20. The Minister asked officials to ensure the presence of NDRF and SDRF teams to tackle any eventuality, as a large number of devotees are expected to arrive for darshan. Also present were Commissioner of Police Shankabrata Bagchi, joint collector Vidyadhari and temple executive officer J Venkata Rao. Speaking to reporters later, Ms. Anitha said that officials have been instructed to make all possible arrangements, with special emphasis on parking, drinking water, and medical facilities. Police officials have been told to ensure there are no traffic snarls, as large number of devotees would be visiting the temple.
