Pandiyarajan, 38, was killed and two others were critically injured in an explosion at Excel Fireworks at Chathrapatti near Vembakottai in Virudhunagar district on Monday (April 13, 2026). Fire and Rescue Services personnel said that P. Rajkumar, 42, and S. Ramesh, 38, sustained serious burn injuries of 100% and 80%, respectively, in the incident.
