Joseph Vijay on Sunday announced that every family in the State would be provided with a Tamil Nadu Citizen Privilege Card, which he claimed would help prevent corruption or bribery in accessing government welfare schemes. Campaigning at Mahadhanapuram roundabout, he said the details of every family member would be available on that card, and welfare schemes would reach every individual without any corruption. He claimed that starting from their birth, every individual would receive the benefits of schemes meant for them. “There will be no need to apply and no need to suffer by paying bribes. Government welfare schemes will reach people’s doorsteps. Artificial intelligence (AI) will help make this possible. This is not some story like [Chief Minister] Stalin sir might narrate. I am talking about something that is scientifically achievable,” he said.
