DMK president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday asserted Tamil Nadu has successfully overturned the Vadaku Valargirathu Therku Theigirathu (North prospers, South withers) narrative by outperforming other States across all major developmental metrics.

He sought votes for DMK candidates R.S. Rajakannappan (Mudukulathur), Katharbatcha Muthuramalingam (Ramanathapuram), K.K. Kathiravan (Paramakudi), and Congress candidate R.M. Karumanickam (Thiruvadanai) during an election campaign meeting in Paramakudi. The most compelling reason to re-elect the Dravidian Model government was not just its historic elevation of Tamil Nadu, but its commitment to pioneering a future that creates new history, he added. “When we assumed power, what was the state of Tamil Nadu?” he questioned, adding, “It was in a condition where even oxygen cylinders were unavailable during COVID-19. Tamil Nadu’s economy had slumped to 0.07%.”
