All the victims were minors and school-going children who had ventured into the water to escape the summer heat, turning moments of joy into devastating loss. On April 9, three girls drowned at a waterfall in Hukumpeta mandal. While they were playing in the water, a friend was taking photographs. Within moments, they were swept away by the current and drowned before help could reach them. In a separate incident on Sunday, three boys aged 10 and 11 drowned while playing in a water body at Matysagundem in Hukumpeta mandal.
