The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department has decided to establish a fire station at Rayapudi in response to frequent fire accidents in the Amaravati Capital region. The department has directed construction companies to ensure proper fire safety measures at their sites. Speaking to The Hindu on Sunday (April 12, 2026), Fire Services in-charge Director General P. Venkata Ramana stated that the accidents were primarily caused by prolonged stocking of conduit pipes and other materials, poor maintenance, lack of water supply, and absence of firefighting equipment at the yards.
