The district administration has installed a series of hoardings along a 2.5-km stretch at Race Course in Coimbatore city as part of its efforts to promote 100% voter turnout. The initiative is being carried out under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election scheduled for April 23.

The stretch features hoardings and video displays highlighting the journey of elections in India. The installations prominently feature the district’s election mascot — a hornbill named Therthal Veeran. The mascot is depicted wearing a cotton baniyan and silk dhoti, with indelible ink marked on its finger.
