There have been reports of several injuries as members of rival political parties clashed, lobbed bombs and attacked vehicles in different locations. The State Election Commission and the police administration described the voting ‘by and large’ peaceful. Security forces were deployed in strength in sensitive areas and in some places they applied mild force to quell tension and ensured peaceful voting.
