A senior citizen casting his postal vote in his residence in Perambalur Assembly constituency monitored by officials on Sunday. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement The exercise of receiving postal votes from senior citizens aged above 85 and persons with disabilities from their respective homes in Perambalur district commenced on Sunday ahead of the upcoming Assembly election scheduled on April 23. A total of 1,157 senior citizens and 1,083 persons with disabilities in the district had expressed their option to exercise their franchise through postal votes from their homes after teams of officials distributed Form 12 D to them to ascertain their option. Perambalur district consists of Perambalur (SC) and Kunnam Assembly constituencies.
