Lifestyle cannot be replaced by Semaglutide, said Nikhil Tandon, Professor and Head of the Department of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), adding that misuse of Semaglutide is increasingly being seen through online pharmacies and wellness clinics in India.

He added that long-term use of Semaglutide has been associated with several important adverse effects that require monitoring. “Without a doctor’s guidance, serious gastrointestinal complications have been reported, with hospitalisations in over 60% of severe cases,” he said.
