Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan on Saturday accused the CPI(M) of unleashing widespread violence in Kannur district fearing defeat in the State Assembly elections. Mr. Satheesan demanded Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to end the violence and asked the Election Commission of India (EC) to ensure urgent police action to quell the violence.
