A four-day winter camp commenced at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP), here on Thursday, with a good number of students participating. The camp was inaugurated by IGZP curator G Mangamma, who also launched the Zoo Passport.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Mangamma said that the winter camp is an opportunity for young participants to learn, explore and connect with the world of wildlife. On the first day of the camp, an engaging session was held on the animals in the zoo and their unique characteristics. It was followed by an exciting zoo treasure hunt and a live observation of the hippopotamus feeding session.

She added that over the next few days, a variety of theme-based activities that focus not only on animals but also on the natural environment that sustains them have been curated. All the participants will receive a winter camp participation certificate, animal-themed T-shirt and IGZP educational resource materials.
