A day after polling to the the byelections in two constituencies in Karnataka, senior Congress leader and Government Chief Whip in the Legislative Council Saleem Ahmed on Friday alleged that some minority leaders conspired to defeat the party’s candidate, Samarth, in the Davangere South Assembly constituency. However, he asserted that the minority community as a whole supported the Congress, and expressed confidence that the party would win both Davangere South and Bagalkot seats.
