As the dust settled on one of the most fiercely contested Assembly elections in recent electoral cycles, all three fronts appeared confident of bettering their current record in the Thiruvananthapuram district. The district recorded an average polling of 76.98% across its 14 constituencies. Battleground constituencies in the district witnessed strong polling.

The Nemom Assembly constituency, which witnessed one of the most unpredictable electoral battles this year, had one of the highest voting percentage in the district with 80.62% of the voters making their choice, as per the figures available at 8 p.m. Unlike in other parts of the city, the constituency witnessed long queues in quite a few polling stations through the day.
