A total of 193 candidates are in the election fray in 11 Assembly constituencies in Salem district and 132 candidates in six Assembly constituencies in Namakkal district as per the final candidates list released on Thursday (April 9, 2026). In the 11 Assembly constituencies in Salem district, 277 candidates filed 355 nominations. In the scrutiny held on Tuesday, nomination of 56 candidates were rejected and 221 candidates were accepted. The withdrawal of nominations started on Wednesday (April 8, 2026), which ended on Thursday evening.
